Nediyiruppu and Islamic Tradition

1. Since form the olden time ,’Umara’-Rich and influential members of Muslim community were found here largely who were very generous even towards the other regions of Malabar.
2. Centuries ago, Muslims had experienced here good influence in the economic, political and social spheres. 
3. Malabar Muslims will remember Nediyiruppu always for its great hosting for Scholars (Ulama ) and big number of students by Establishing ‘Dars’ system very early providing much facilities which were not found in other parts of Malabar. Many top Ulamas of the elder generation had studied or taught here over years. 
4. Old generation have good memories of Debates held here between Pathi Abdul Kadir Musliyar and Shamsul Ulama E.K Aboobacker Musliyar regarding the pronunciation of the word ‘Allah’ 
5. Nediyiruppu had been hosting many ‘waa’ds’ (religious talks conducted mostly in open places) for  top scholars.
6. Good number of people from other religions also live here .All communities are very adherent and bonded towards keeping the social harmony .
