Introduction
This booklet is
dedicated to the Ummah with the hope that this will help them
to be more devoted in Ibaadhas and thus gain more attachment and
sincerity in the invocations and Dhikrs.Insya
Allah.
To recite the Holy Quran, and Dhikrs, knowing the meaning
is more rewarding and more effective than reciting them without understanding the
meaning.
We can find different collections of Dhikrs and
invocations compsed by Auliya and Great U’lama. They all were compiled
in accordance to the Quran and Sunnah.
This rateeb is formed of Dhikrs and Swalawat related to Qadiri
Sufi Order for Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani (Q.S) and some Qasweedas.
Sincere Efforts are made, to ensure the accuracy of the Arabic
text and translations within this booklet.
Please note that the transliterations are done in this booklet (not
for the Qur’anic Verses) to help those who do not read Arabic at all.
We know that the Perfect transliteration is quite difficult. So, we
advise all for trying the best to follow the Arabic Text.
Along with the translations, needed
explanations also are given here.
May Allah accept this small
work and include all of us, our parents and all beloved ones among His pious
servants.

This is Imam Shafi’s® unique swalawat (salutation).
Oh Allah! Grant Your
Mercy and Blessings upon our leader Muhammad (ﷺ) and the
family of our leader Muhammad (ﷺ) whenever
he is remembered, and whenever he is not remembered.
This Swalawat will light up our graves and will make our ways smooth
in ‘Mahsyar’ on the day of judjment.Insya Allah.

Al-Asbahani (R) says: Once
I saw the Prophet (swallallahu alaihi wasallam) in a dream and asked,"O, the
the prophet (ﷺ),
have you given any special appreciation to Shafi’ee (R)?"
The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "Yes, I have asked Allaah (subhanahu wa ta-aala) to save him from questioning on the Day of Qiyamah."
I asked, "What was the reason for this?"
The Prophet (ﷺ) replied,"He
recited a unique swalawat upon me."
I asked, "What swalawat did he recite?"
The Prophet (ﷺ) asnwered, "He
would say,
Allaahumma swalli a’laa muhammadin kullamaa dhakarahudh-dhaakiroon, wa kullamaa ghafala a’n dhikrihil-ghaafiloon (Tuhafathul Muhtaj Bi Sharhil Minhaj)
------------------------------------
Abdullah Al-Hakam said:“I saw Imam sh-Shafi`®
in my dream and asked him, ‘What has Allah done with you?’” and he answered,
“He bestowed His Mercy on me, pardoned me and decorated the heaven (Jannah)for
me, which approached to me like a bride decorated with all her adornments.
I asked him, “How did you
attain this level, what did you do?”
He said, “Someone told me to read a particular
salawat, which I did.”
Recite this salawat to
enter Paradise without questioning;
(Allahuma Swalli Alaa Muhammadin

an dhiikrihil ghafiloon)
Astagfirullaha rabbee min kulli dhanbin wa atoobu ilaihi
I ask Allah my Lord forgiveness from all sins and I repent
towards Him.
Always we need to do Istighfar (regretting on sins and seeking
forgivness from Allah) because it will constantly help to purify our soul.More
over it is the essence of our submission to Allah Subhanahu Wa Taa’ala.
Allah says in the holy Quran:
وَمَا كَانَ اللهُ مُعَذِّبَهُمْ
وَهُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ
And Allah would not punish them while they seek
forgiveness.
Abuhurairah ® narrated that the messenger of
Allah (ﷺ) said:
Oh the people! Repent
to Allah, I ask Allah for forgiveness one hundred times a day. (Muslim).
Ibn 'Abbas (R) said:
The prophet (ﷺ) said:
"If anyone continually seeks forgiveness
(from Allah), Allah will assign for him a way out of every distress and a
relief from every anxiety, and will provide sustenance for him from where he
expects not."
[Abu Dawud].

from Allah the High and the Magnificent
.
According to the interpreters of Al-Qur’an,
this dhikr is mentioned in the holy Quran by the phrase ‘Albaaqiyaatu swaalihat’.
In the night of Miraj Nabi
Ibraheem (A) advised the prophet (ﷺ) to teach his ummah that this dhikr
is the cultivation (preparation) for the paradise.
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased
with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)
said:

, "The uttering of
the words: "Subhan-Allah Wal-hamdu
Lillah Wa La ilaha illallah wallahu Akbar”
is dearer to me than anything over which the sun rises.''(Muslim)
This dhikr is very special as it contains
all the key dhikrs - La ilaha illallah, Subhan-Allah, Al-hamdu Lillah,
Allahu Akbar and Laa haula Walaa Quwwata Illa billahil A’liyyil a’zeem.
That is why this dhikr is fixed
for the Eid Prayers as well for Tasbeeh prayers
And (in times of inconvinience) it
stands for Tahiyyatul Masjid and Sajadatu Tilawah.
Then please read these verses from Qur’an

Jabir ® reports from the Prophet
(ﷺ): The greatest Dhikr is –Lailaha
ill Allah-(Turmidhi)
The Prophet (ﷺ) says:
‘Those who maximise the
dhikr of Lailaha illAllah would not have fear of
their loneliness in their graves and in the day of resurrection. I am seeing
them now as they are removing the dusts from their heads and saying: All
praises are to Allah who saved us from the sorrow of this day. Verily, our Lord
is Forgiver and very Grateful’ (Twabraani)
The Prophet (ﷺ) also says:
If any one says –Lailaha
illAllah (with real faith and practice) he will enter paradise
(Twabrani)
He (ﷺ) also said:
Please increase the dhikr
of –Lailaha illAllah -before the curtain falls
between you and these (Great) words. (Twabraani)
It is obviously clear from many
hadiths that the person whose last word will be- Lailahaillallah-surely
will go Jannah among those who are first to enter in.

|
Sultanu dhikr for Auliya is Allahu, Allah.
‘Allah’ is the Sustainer
for the whole universe.
Every body in this world is accountable
to Allah for his words and actions.
Our major thoughts and fears should be
about ‘Allah’.
When the rememberance of ‘Allah’
is stronger in a believer,he would be protected. No need to be worried. -Insya
Allah
Allah will open for him the doors...
Allah says (explaining the charecteristics
of the believers):
“Whose hearts fear when ‘Allah’
is mentioned” (22:35)
He also says:
"Certainly, the remembrance of Allah is the greatest (29:45)
In Hadith reported by Imam
Muslim, the Prophet (ﷺ) says:
لا تقوم الساعة
على أحد يقول الله الله
The Hour will not appear on anyone
who says: "Allah, Allah."
Allahu halwiree,
Allahu Naliree, Allahu Shahidee, Allahu Mai’ee
Allah is present with me, Allah is watching me, Allah
is my witness, and Allah is with me
Imam Gazzali narrates in Ihya Uloomidheen the story of a great wali
‘Sahl al-Tustari’® - how a young Sahl learned a simple wird - Allahu hadiree,Allahu Naziree,Allahu Shahidee,Allahu Mai’ee -from his uncle, but reflective enough that it had transmuted
‘Sahl’ into a great ‘Wali’. Later ‘Sahl’ grew up to be"The master of
knowers of Allah (sayyidul arifeen) of his time.
----------------------
This dhikr is the affirmation of ‘Ikhlas’.
Ikhlas (sincerity to
Allah) referes to two important points;
Firstly; what ever we do in good deeds all should be done only for
the sake of Allah and His pleasure.
Secondly, even we are not seeing
Allah in this world, we must worship him as we see him because he is
watching and seeing us even we are not seeing Him.
(Insya Allah, true believers will see Him in the next world-May
Allah grant us ,our parents and all beloveds Toufeeq to see Allahu Taa’ala
in Jannah)
Antal hadee, Antal
haqq, Laisal hadee Illa hoo
You are The Guide (The One who guides the living
beings to the staright path). You are The Truth (The one who is the only lasting
‘Truth’ (Haq) and who is true in His being, word, and promise etc) .No body to
guide except Him (Allah).
Allah is the one who guides towards every
thing.Guidance into the way of Iman is His biggest favour upon us.If Allah
did n’t want to guide us, no body can do it.
Allah
is The real Truth that exists. He is the ultimate Truth.
His
path is only the true path.
Haa Hu Hee Hayyun
Know; He is Allah, (Say) He is the Ever Living
This is a dhikr reported from Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani (Q.S).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
N: b-
Some of these heard dhikrs may be unlike to our experiences. In Some dhikrs the influence of non-Arabic languages like Persian and Urdu also can be seen.
When the Auliyaullah are dissolved in the remembrance of Allah, in a state of extreme love for Allah, the meaning of Kalimatu Tauheed as well as the word Allah, would be expressed by them in various ways .
It is quoted from many of the sufi orders like Qadiri (Eg:Ha,Hi,Hu, Haq,Tu,Haq) and others (like shadzili and Rifa’i) and always the scholars had accepted them as they had no any contradiction with shari’a in structure or meaning and even they were proved very effective in internalizing the meaning of Tauheed into the hearts of the Mureeds (disciples of the shaikhs).
For further reading, there are some books (especially written on the Adhkar of shadzili Sufi order) which explain the origin of the above mentioned and similar dhikr.
Haa Hu Hee Hayyun:
-------------------------
A- According to Some scholars ,the letter 'Hi' might be from Non -Arabic language as we explained in the note.
B- Some others have explained this dhikr as below
Letter ‘Haa’ is grammatically used for alerting (Tanbeeh).
‘Hee’ is used here for affirmation of the truth.
Hu is the Name of Allah, there is no dispute on this.
It is reported in Swaheehul Bukhari;
once Sayyiduna Abubakr sidheeque ® said to the Prophet (ﷺ) - Laa Haa Alla
Being dissolved in ‘Allahu Allah’ Saints of Allah (Auliya) always evoked Him (Allah) in every breath.
When the ‘Mujahada’ develops with the Dhikr ‘Allahu Allahu’ (in its original form or in any acceptable form) ,this dhikr sparks in them like fire which will burn all of their desires and they will pass through higher stages of spirituality and nearness to Allah subhanahu wata-ala.
Ilaahee Anta Maqsoodee wa rilwaaka matwloobee
O my Lord You are my goal and
your pleasure is my desire.
This dhikr declares the ‘Ikhlas’
(sincerity of the worshipers and rememberers of Allah.
‘Ikhlas’ means
that our dhikr and other ibadhas must be done only for the sake
of Allah and for his pleasure. (Not for showing off or being mixed with any
other intention).
At the extream end of love for Allah subhanahu wa taa’laa everything
disappears for the seekers of Allah! No ‘Dunya’ or its pleasure,
its wealth or anything else matters for them! Only they seek Allah’s love and pleasure!
At this point it is called: ilaahi anta maqsoodee wa rilwaaka
matwloobi. You are my goal and your pleasure is my desire.

Oh, The The
Ever-Living, Oh, The self Existing and The Sustainer, Oh, Eternal, Oh Allah
Note: Here we have to intend our wishes
related to the both worlds.
Hayy: The Ever-Living, Undying.
Qayyoom: The Self Existing One Who
is The Sustainer of the Universe upon whom all depend.
Daim: The Eternal, One who is
everlasting
Allah: (The Most Used) Holy Name.
Ismul Aa’zam
Dua’ done
using ‘Ismul Aa’zam’ (the greatest name of Allah (Taa’ala))
will be answered by Allah, very soon-Insya Allah.
‘Ismul Aa’zam’ is not plainly explained to us (inorder to encourage us for
maximising ways of Ibadha) as it is the case of Lailatul Qadr also.
There are
different views regarding which is ‘Ismul Aa’zam’
‘Allah’
is the Ismul Aa’zam with a group of
scholars when another group says that Al-Hayyu l Qayyumu is the Ismul
Aa’zam.
The basic
of the both opinions comes from the Hadith reported by Abu Umamah (R) that the
prophet ﷺ
said:
‘Ismul
Aa’zam’is
contained in Surah Baqarah, Al-Imran and Twahaa.
During the serious situations Nabi (ﷺ) used to make dua’s using
–Two Holy Names of Allah (Yaa Hayyu, Yaa Qayyoom) (Tirmidhi)
Ya Daaimu Ya Daaimu Ya Hoo Ya Daaim
Oh, The Eternal, Oh The Eternal, Oh He
(Hu-is Name of Allah), Oh ,The Eternal
Allah is The Eternal and The Ever Lasting. He cannot be compared with the
time.
The Dhikr ‘Yaa Daim’ takes
the Lovers of Allah to the special stages of ‘Shauq’. ‘Shauq’ is
the eagerness of a lover to meet his/her beloved. When the lover of Allah remembers
that Allah whom he loves is Eternal, He finds his love as absoulutly
different and special apart from other loves. This inner call will motivate him
to make relationship with Allah stronger.
Hu Hu Ya Man Hu
O He who is He
whom no one knows what He Himself is but Himself.
The ‘Hu’
(He) is the noun Used for ‘Allah’.It is a noun for Allah. This dhikr
establishes our belief that the real existence is for Allah only ,and
every thing in this universe exists with the power of Allah, when Allah’s
existence des not depend on any thing .Allah is The Self Existent.
Allahu Allahu Allah
Allah Allah Allah
Auliya/Sufis call this (Allahu Allah) as sultanudhikr.According
to Sufis Knowledge of divine truth (Kashf) is gained by
practicing it regularly on some conditions in specified numbers.Every thing in
this iniverse is taking name of Allah and glorifying Him.
Hasbunallahu Wani’mal Wakeel, Ni’mal
Maula Wa ni’ma Nnasweer
Allah is
sufficient for us and what an excellent Trustee is He. What an Excellent Patron
and what an Excellent Helper.
The Parts of this tremendous dhikr
are found from the Holy Qur’an.
When Nabi Ibraheem (A) was put in
fire by the King Namrood, Ibrahim (A) had recited Hasbunallahu Wani’mal
Wakeel, and our Nabi Muhammad (ﷺ) had recited it when he
and his companions had a tough meeting with their openents. Both prophets had
great win over their rivals.
I seek
forgiveness from you and to you is my return
This verse is from ‘Aamana Rrasoolu’
-the last two verses- of Surah Al-Baqarah.It revives the thought for repentance
and rememberance of the death and the day of resurrection.
Our Lord accept
from us, that you are the most hearing, the most knowledgeable."
And accept our
repentance, for You are the accepter of repentence, the Most Merciful.
This is the Dua’ done by Nabi
Ibrahim (A) and his son Nabi Ismail (A) after rebuilding Kaa’bah Mukarramah (Surah-Al-Baqarah).It is very
recomended for us to bring it in our daily dua’s.Becuase,If Allah did n’t
accept our deeds,we lost very thing.
‘Their call therein will be, "Exalted are
You, O Allah," and their greeting therein will be, "Peace." And
the last of their call will be, "Praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds!"(Surah-Yunus-10)
The Holy Qur’an is explaining (in
the above verse) to us how do the pious servants of Allah enter in to the
Jannah? How do they make dua to Him? How they will be greeted into jennah? How
they will be thanking Allah for allowing them to stay in Jannah.
This
dua is recommended in the end of every majlis.

O Allah pray on our Master Muhammad (ﷺ) a prayer by means of
which we will be saved from
every awe-inspiring harmful thing,
and that will take care of all of our needs,
and purify us by means of it from all of our ugly qualities and characteristics
and raise us and purify us by means of it from all of our ugly qualities and characteristics
and raise us up by means of it in Your Presence to the highest of degrees,
and cause us to reach by means of it the extremes of all goodness in our life and after our death
