Samastha Kerala Jami’yyathul Ulama(S.K.J.U) is the largest religious organisation for Muslim scholars in India especially in Kerala and neighbouring states. It aims to develop religious awareness among the Muslims and to unite them under the beliefs of Ahlussunnah Wal jama-a’.
There are about 10000 madrasas for children and hundreds of Islamic colleges working under Samastha Kerala Jami’yyathul Ulama and Most of the mosques in the state are registered under this great organisation.
Under this organisation there are special wings working to develop the Islamic education as well as to look after the youth and students.Samastha Kerala Islam Matha Vidyabhyasa Board(SKIMVB),Samastha Kerala Jami’yyathul mua’llimeen(SKJM), Sunni Yuvajana Sangam(SYS),samstha kerala sunni students federation (SKSSF)and Sunni Mahallu Federation(SMF) are the most important wings.
Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama was formed in 1926 at Kozhikode, under the leadership of great Scholar Varakkal Mullakoya Thangal
This organisation grew much under the leadership of Kanniyat Ahmed Musliyar and Shamsul Ulama E.K Aboobacker Musliyar.
Currently the General Secretery for the organisation is Cherushery Zainudeen musliyar who is Qazi for hundreds of localities and Pro.Chancellor of Darul Huda Islamic University. He is usually named as ‘Zainul Ulama’ (Beauty of Scholars) in respect.
